A new studio called Runic Games has arisen from the ashes of Flagship Studios’ demise. I managed to get a hold of Travis Baldree, founder and president of Runic Games and formerly the creator of Mythos, to ask him a few things about his new studio and the plans he has in store for it.

Tiggs made a post on the Official Forums stating that both the official forums of Hellgate: London and Mythos will be shutting down.
On Friday, July 18th at Midnight (CST) the forums will be shutting down. We would like to thank everyone for being a part of this wonderful community and we hope to see you all again soon.

Travis Baldree, Project Lead and Programmer on Mythos created a thread on the official Mythos forum to bid his farewells to the Mythos community and other members of the Mythos team have since added their heartfelt goodbyes to the thread.
Well, it’s an interesting few days here for all of us. It’s just been killing me not to post until now, but I really needed to wait until some things were settled and announced. As you may or may not know Flagship Studios laid off almost all employees effective friday - you should be able to see the press release in the Announcements. Now, on the face of it, that really does sound like the end of Mythos as we know it - but we have a tight-knit team that feels like family and hopes to stick together. Unfortunately, I can’t speak at any real length about our immediate plans just yet - but let’s say that we hope to have you back up and Beta testing for us in one way or another sometime soon.
You’ve been an incredible community that we’ve all felt priveleged to be a part of, and we’re not quite ready to let go of that little family just yet. No matter the outcome, this has been a fantastic experience, and I and the team would like to thank each and every one of you for the tireless hours of testing and discussion you’ve undergone, and the uniquely friendly community spirit that you all helped foster. It’s been a treat every step of the way.
So, I’m not exactly sure how long Mythos in its current form will remain up, since it is effectively a testing server. I’ll try to get you that information as soon as I can.
In the meantime, I know the rest of the team would love to post their farewells and thanks to all of you. We’ll try to keep you as up to date as we can in one way or another.Thanks again to all of you - and I hope to be seeing all of you online again very, very soon.

Others of Flagship Studios who have contributed their farewells and goodbyes to the thread include Jason “Grimby” Beck (Art Lead), Adam “HamSandwhich” Perin (3D Technical Artist), Kyle “SkyCrickett” Cornelius (Concept Artist) and Taylor Balbi (Community Manager).
History will, perhaps, remember Mythos as one of those “great games that should have been”, along with Black Isle Studios’ Van Buren and Troika’s post-apocalyptic RPG. Hope may yet exist for the game, so we’ll be crossing our fingers for a miracle.

Our newly established network of websites, in extension of Hellgate Guru and Mythos Guru, is looking for a few skilled staff to fill the following roles: News Poster, Content Developer, and Forum Overseer. The positions that prospective staff members would like to fill entail the following titles and responsibilities:
News Poster
Must be ready and able to post up-to-date news on the respective game, with updates based on Google Alerts, official websites or gaming news websites.
Content Developer
Depending on the game, the content developer will be required to produce guides, walkthroughs, character profiles, or strategies. Depending on the expertise of the individual, content such as skill calculators or other interactive media are much desired content.
Forum Overseer
The responsibility of a forum overseer is twofold: moderate the forums, and to encourage and maintain activity within the forum by creating new posts, responding to existing posts, and drawing traffic from the internet at large in order to grow the community and its forums. Forum overseers are encouraged to maintain a positive, and friendly attitude towards users.

Ripper McGee has developed a news widget for Mythos that’s available on SpringWidgets. The news widget an embeddable, customizable news feed that’s compatible with a variety of different websites.
The Mythos News Widget contains RSS feeds to the official Mythos website as well as fansites, including our own, that you can easily subscribe to here. Feel free to follow our feed link, or if simply by enter your e-mail address on the entry form on the top-right box of our website to receive Mythos updates in the mail on the fly.
Hello readers! Whatever website of ours you belong to, be it Hellgate Guru, Mythos Guru, or Demigod Guru, you have probably heard that we have had IRC channels set up for each of our websites.
Today, we have decided to set up a brand new network called AxisIRC, after a group decision between the staff members of our various websites and community leaders to provide an improved service over the old network.
The services we will now provide will include hosting a multitude of gaming channels, easy channel registration, nickname registrations and most importantly, a strong potential for growth, in terms of both channels and users.
To connect to this network, simply direct your mIRC, HydraIRC, Trillian or other IRC client to the following address:

After a bit of forum downtime today, the site changes announced yesterday are now complete and the Hellgate Guru and Mythos Guru forums now share the same domain and user base. I’m happy to say that all of your accounts, posts, polls and other information from the Mythos Guru forums have been fully retained and carried over to Hellgate Guru.
You can still use the old forum URLs to enter the two sites (hellgateguru.com/forum and mythosguru.com/forum). The front pages also remain as before (hellgateguru.com and mythosguru.com) and they too will be seeing some upgrades, though no further mergers are planned.
We hope you enjoy the new combined forums and if you have any comments or questions don’t hesitate to ask.
