This morning Community Manager Kaiser Hwang released a small update on the official Hellgate: London website consisting of pictures from the Asia Launching Party.
News of E3 and a new trailer being unveiled there for the lucky goers (although I’m sure it’ll pop up on the net later somewhere), as well as the same trailer unveiling at the China Joy event in, well, China.
There’s also mention of various art sent in to Flagship Studios (including that of our very own Kotoko), the Hellgate Weta figures being shipped, the Exodus novel, and the HG:L comic compilation.

Okay, bit of a lie on the caning. However, Hellgate Guru Site Director Sol Invictus is indeed rubbing elbows with Playworks’ Swordplay (PlayHGL) and Infocomm Asia Holdings’ Angelace.
This solitary image was attached to this note here, let me read it: “…if you ever want to see your precious Sol Invictus ever again, send twenty million in unmarked Mythos gold to this address…”Huh. Well now. He certainly doesn’t look to be under duress in the picture. Then again, says they were drinking. Don’t worry, Sol! We’ll come up with the money. Eventually.

Mythos fans rejoice! The first images of the beta build have been made available in GameSpy’s two-page preview of the game, posted yesterday.
After a couple of hours with Mythos we can honestly color ourselves entranced by this surprise candidate for new online obsession. The passion of the few developers that have adopted the game is incredibly contagious, so it could be that we were a little swayed by their breathless enthusiasm. Of course, it’s far more likely that we were mesmerized by the classic formula that devoured hours of our time in previous games like Diablo. It’s as potent as it is old.
Different from most of the previews we’ve encountered so far, GameSpy delves into Flagship Seattle’s unique structure and flexibility as well as their game’s facets (including a new class, the Engineer, and the line-up of races available).
