ChinaJoy 2007: MMOSite Posts Mythos Roperview

Written on July 17, 2007 – 12:05 pm | by Scapes |

Gaming news aggregator MMOSite has posted a brief interview that game.tom.com had at ChinaJoy 2007 with Flagship Studios’ CEO Bill Roper about Mythos, Hellgate: London, and the Diablo franchise.

According to Bill Roper, Mythos is a casual style MMORPG, while Hellgate: London is a title oriented toward Diablo fans who are fond of experiencing high technology. Mythos developers are the core members of Diablo series development team. During Mythos development, they drew a lot of experience from Diablo. Bill Roper even claimed that Mythos is the most genuine Diablo sequel.

“We’re very confident that,” said Bill, “Mythos is the most genuine Diablo title. If someday in the future, Blizzard releases Diablo 3, I’ll be all too willing to experience it. But I believe before it comes out, all the Blizzard staff are already loyal supporters of Mythos.”

When being asked, with Hellgate: London and Mythos out on the market, what will Flagship Studios leave to Blizzard if its going to develop Diablo 3, Bill said: “Nothing!”

I’ve cleaned up the grammar in this quote some. Believe the poor grammar found in the link itself is due to a poor translation of the original interview.
